Just been announced that the 2019 World champs will be in Yorkshire

Suspect the crowds will be a big bigger than in Doha, the temps a bit lower, and the courses a bit more interesting !

I suspect the Daily Mail is already planning a campaign to stop this madness - Why are Britain's roads being closed to allow foreigners to cycle on them !

What a crazy idea! Putting a bike race in country with cycling fans, a climate you can ride a bike in and even the odd geographical feature. It'll never catch on.


I wonder how the UCI plan on screwing it up? All riders to use oval wheels? The entire event to be hosted as laps of a mini roundabout? Perhaps they'll install blow torches under riders saddles to simulate 40oC heat because apparently that's good weather for a bike race.
