As the nights draw in, temperatures drop, and the leaves turn to ochre and gold, we begin to look forward to Scotland, and adventures in the snowy north. The first snows have already graced the highest summits of the Scottish mountains, and here at Plas y Brenin the team are busy making their first plans for trips up to get some early climbing and mountaineering in.
By the start of our winter programme in late January, at our base at Alltshellach House, there will be a blanket of white across the high peaks of Glen Coe and Lochaber, turning them from big hills to superb mountains. If you’re keen to take your Hillwalking or Mountaineering skills to the next level and open the door on a new world of adventure come and join us for a PYB Scottish Winter experience you’ll never forget!
The staff team will be as keen as ever to help you on your journey, with decades of experience and knowledge of the area, making the best possible use of the constantly changing conditions these wild mountains present. Along with the fully equipped Plas y Brenin stores, and all the hotel facilities at Alltshellach House (including a Jacuzzi, Swimming Pool and Bar), this will enable you to get the absolute most out of your time in the Scottish mountains.
We run a packed programme of courses, for all abilities, from Introductory Walking to Performance Climbing and all levels between. We also run Training and Assessment courses throughout the winter for both the Winter Mountain Leader and Mountaineering Instructor Schemes.
If you’re keen for adventure, we’ll see you in Scotland!
