You achieve near same results by rolling the forearm with a broom stick, golf ball or hockey ball!

Maybe "near same" but not the same.

I've used both the methods you list and the armaid and, if the money is no problem / you are sufficiently chronically afflicted, the armaid is possibly worth the premium.

Whilst you can get a nice rolling massage with balls / broomsticks, I find the armaid to be much better for applying pressure deep into knots of muscle and right into the elbow joint. The pincer construction means that you can very firmly and specifically squeeze tender / tight spots whilst flexing / tensing the arm: for high pressure followed by a feeling of deep release (perhaps pasbury's allusions above aren't that far off the mark!). Daft looking and maybe overpriced (although that depends on your level of affliction, priorities, and income) but certainly not ineffective.

Not to say that I feel simple. improvised methods are always inferior though - I've not found a better self-help tool for shoulder / neck pain pain than a lacrosse ball!

I have one, totally fixed my tennis elbow in four weeks after months of suffering two years ago, would recommend, though mine has 3 smaller massage balls rather than the single larger one. I used it for post climbing rehab too, had no problems since so very happy. £80 only equates to two physio visits in my book.

The latest waste of fossil fuels. I would like to see what they make of this product on Dragons Den.

I wouldn't put the wanton playing of golf and/or tennis past them - with the attending elbow injuries

Though it could probably be largely made out of ply for a little less plastic use

I am genuinely interested in how this product does in the greater market. I can be quite outspoken, but it looks like absolute cr#p in terms of conceptual idea, appearance, break ability and cost.

Someone must think it’s a good idea, I normally enter competitions here but I wouldn’t know what to do with it if I won apart from making a beeline to the nearest car boot sale.

It looks like it’s been designed for ‘specialist’ bottom massage.

Wouldn't know about that, but I bought mine in the US five or six years ago, so presumably they've been doing well enough in the meantime to stay afloat. They do look silly, and may be a bit on the expensive side, but, as others have attested, they do work well at what they're made for. Mine has yet to break, or even look much worse than when I got it
