Going to California for the summer and looking for quality cragging in addition to Needles,Yosemite,Tuoluomne and Bishop area. Anyone know whether Tahoe area much cop? Any other suggestions?
Lover's Leap is the most extensive/interesting crag in the Tahoe area.
Smaller crags around the Lake and at Donner Summit are pleasant but not worth a big detour (IMO). Believe there are some steeper (sport?) routes on the Nevada side.
Of course I may have missed something.......
In reply to Li'l Zé: Cave Rock the place you thinking of? Access seems, at best, dodgy, plus i think routes start at 5.12. Lots of pleasant places in the area, but a poor second to places like Yosemite, Joshua Tree and Eastern Sierras.
