The 2009 Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF) at the Showroom in Sheffield was officially announced last week. Three times world champion Ben Slinger was there with fellow Mountain Bike Trials Rider Danny Butler performing in front of awe-struck crowds in Sheffield City Centre during the lunch time and evening rushes. Then, rather impressively, they performed in the cinema itself in front of a host of invited sponsors, press, film makers and film stars. The pair will be back at the festival proper next weekend, 27 Feb to 1 Mar, performing outside the venue, and then as part of the Snow & Bike programme on the Saturday evening. They have to be seen to be believed!

The Event will be kicked off with a talk from rock climbing legend Ron Fawcett. Alongside Ron lecturing this year are Chris Sharma, Niall Grimes, Alastair Lee, Zoe Hart, Adele Pennington, Mick Fowler, Gaz Parry, Robert Mads Anderson Dave Birkett and Jerry Moffatt!
Then on Sunday there's the Great British Grade Debate with the BMC (McClure, Dunne, Pearson, Geldard, Bransby, Birkett and Sellars).
And let's not forget the backbone of the festival - the films. Get a day pass and watch till you drop, choose your preferred genre/s and watch in two hour blocks, or just come along on the Sunday night for the Best Of ShAFF.
