Access & Conservation Officer (Regions)
Based in Manchester; salary £24,083 - £30,298 depending on experience


The British Mountaineering Council is seeking an active and experienced climber with a strong employment background to take up this important position. The successful applicant will be a ‘people person’ with a genuine interest in countryside access, conservation and land management issues. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal and administrative skills and a willingness to work frequent evenings and weekends. The post calls for extensive travel throughout England and will involve supporting BMC regional volunteers, negotiating with land owners and countryside bodies, leading on the regional implementation of the Marine and Coastal Act 2009 and developing the BMC’s position on quarrying. The post holder will be an active member of the BMC Access, Conservation & Environment Group and the Land Management Group and will also be directly responsible for BMC owned and managed sites in England.
