Surrey Sports Park Climbing Centre requires a Climbing Wall Assistant. The salary offered is £15,000 - £17,000 pa (pro rata for part time), working on a rota 40 hours a week if full time or 20 hours a week if part time, 5 days out of 7 including weekends.
** The closing date for the receipt of applications is 5pm this Friday (16th April 2010). **

You will contribute towards ensuring that the Climbing Centre within the Surrey Sports Park (SSP) operates to the highest possible levels of safety and guest service, by monitoring the use of equipment and activities. You will ensure the safety of all guests and staff at the centre, and the maintenance of equipment, through the adherence of strict health and safety procedures.
Your role will also be to instruct individuals and groups on the use of climbing techniques and to demonstrate the safe use of the climbing equipment.
You will promote the Climbing Centre facilities through a programme of sporting and recreational events, and you will assist in running climbing activities within the centre for guests, staff and students.
You will have basic climbing experience, and be a qualified first-aider. You will have a clear understanding of health and safety requirements in the leisure industry, as well the ability to provide excellent customer service.
