Joe Brown April DEAL OF THE MONTH Wild Country Xenon Quick Draws #1
© Joe Brown - Snowdonia, Mar 2011
Designed to fill the gap in the Wild Country range between the top of the range Helium and the ubiquitous Wild Wire, the Wild Country Xenon Quickdraw retains features of both and has been slimmed and trimmed down to create a biner which is a lighter than average at just 38 grams.
The Wild Country Xenon uses a full size, classic bow back shape for easy handling, yet weight is shaved by adapting some of the ideas and technology gleaned from the technology used in the Helium karabiner. Built with safety in mind the Wild Country Xenon sports a new hooding around the nose which helps to prevent accidental gate opening if the karabiner is pushed against the rock, yet it still retains a slim profile with a newly designed narrow wire gate for quick and easy clipping.
Essentially the Wild Country Xenon offers a great deal to the all round climber wishing to upgrade their rack and shave some weight, with a cleverly designed low profile unit that enhances clipping and racking. Now available at an incredible £42 for a set of 5.
