A GORE-TEX® 3-layer jacket for use in high alpine terrain. At 550g, its high durability, absolute water resistance, stretch and very good breathability set new standards.
It is cold on the wall, there are strong winds from all sides and spindrifts are spraying you from above. Under such adverse conditions, climbers must be able to rely 100% on their clothing. The Mammut Nordwand jacket offers them the protection they need. As a fullstretch 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell jacket, it supports every movement and offers optimal weather protection at all times.
The new expandable hood system with horizontal and vertical elastic bands allows for optimum adjustment to the head with or without a helmet. The visor has been reinforced to withstand even strong gusts of wind. The front-reach sleeves have been designed specifically to support arm movements common to climbing and thus prevent any kind restriction in movement. To prevent water from running into the sleeve when reaching up, the adjustable cuffs feature a Velcro deflection system that allows adjustment with one hand. The vents on the lower arm have been brought forward slightly and are thus more easily accessible. At the same time, the front pockets are located in a backpack and climbing harness-compatible position.
