For the second year running Rock UK Summit Centre will host The Welsh Climbing Championships on Saturday 12th November 2011.
This is a fantastic event that attracts a wealth of climbers from all over the UK, from experienced enthusiasts to members of the British Youth Climbing Team. The competition has five categories from the under 10s category to 17+ with no upper age limit so it's a truly competitive platform for everyone who enters.
Summit Centre is the perfect venue for a competition of this level as the indoor climbing walls offer over 180 routes ranging from 3s to 8s. The walls are up to 17m high with an impressive 8m overhang and an excellent bouldering area. Each category will get to climb five qualifying routes with the top five in each category going on to compete for podium positions in the final.
Rachel Allen, Centre Director at Summit Centre, says, "We are delighted to be asked again to host the competition this year, it's an excellent endorsement for the centre and underscores all the hard work the team have put in over the last twelve months to make our first year at Summit Centre a great success".
