VOLUNTARY RECALL NOTICE - SIMOND ROCKY BENT AND STRAIGHT GATE KARABINERS

Chamonix-based hardware manufacturer, Simond, have issued a recall on all Rocky bent gate and straight gate karabiners produced in 2012 and 2013.

Simond are recalling the Rocky carabiners made between 2012 and 2013 as a precaution after two carabiners were returned to Simond with rivets that had not been deformed, which meant that the gates were not secured. Fortunately, the customers had noticed this defect before using the karabiners and nobody was harmed.

Simond are asking anybody with Simond Rocky carabiners with the following serial numbers; xxxx12CE0333 and xxxx13CE0333 to check the rivets and if the rivet is not deformed/flat to return it immediately.

Simond Rocky wiregate karabiners are not affected by this recall as they use a different rivet system.
