The negative comments were for the old premises. It's now much bigger and better! Well worthwhile with good bouldering, toproping. And it's friendly!
Wolf Mountain has now move to a new bigger premises. The wall height are from 9m to 10.5m , with the main wall overhanging by 5m give a total of 12m worth of climbing.
The Main lead wall has insitu clips and we will be adding more soon.
Wolf Mountain has as far as I know the only free climb stamina tunnel in the U.K 13 metres at a 35 degree angle! 2 boulder areas one small one for children and the new area with a barrel,45 degree overhang and roof sections, routes are changed every couple of months on a rotational basis and the boulder areas are completley stripped and reset every 3 months. Theres also a 13 rung campus board. Yes the boulder routes do get dirty and chalked up but what climbing walls dont? If its not dirty it isnt being used!!
I think teaczar's comment is a little harsh. Their website states that they have "what can only be described as possibly the best bouldering/training room in the UK". Sorry but this is false advertising. It is not horrible, but it is probably the smallest bouldering room out of the half dozen or so dedicated gyms I've been to in the UK. The problems are not very imaginative, and the holds are in desperate need of washing/brushing. I didn't do any roped climbing but the walls are very short, probably not more than 5m. OK if you live there, but not really worth a trip otherwise.
