Moved together. Started moving from tent in the col du midi for 2:30am. Was on summit for 8:30am and down past the gouter to the train station for 4pm followed by a descent on foot from top of Les Houches cablecar to the valley floor. Excellent day.

Moved together the whole way as a rope of three. 2am start from the Cosmiques, back down at the railway at 13:30. A long descent! Very windy, excellent views, watching the sunrise comes highly recommended.

Party of 4 moving together, broke final slopes of mont maudit into two pitches using the rocks two thirds up. Artic on the summit, high winds and zero vis, very cold.

A long, long way. Very tired on reaching the tram stop about 2pm after setting off from the Midi station 11pm Friday night. Straight forward climbing, just need to be fit, determined and preferably acclimatised! Moved together the whole way, only took 1 axe, didn't need any screws.

Left Aigulle du Midi lift station at 11pm to avoid paying for a night at the Cosmiques. The long plod down from the Goutier hut was an exercise in patience . . .Great sunrise though.

Got the last cable car up, did Mont Blanc du Tacul and Mont Maudit before a planned bivi on the Col du la Brenva, finishing over the summit the next day.

Left the Cosmiques hut @ 0150hrs and summited @ 0800ish hrs, walked down the Goutier Dome to the Goutier Hut. From there down to the mountain railway (14 1/2hrs in total)and ended in Les Houches. Tired but well worth it.

First one's on the route summited ~6.00am, the first half is good, scottish III at most. But coming down the Gouter route really detracted from the experience, the smell of shit and ages spent in queues doesn't make for a fun route. I hope never to go up or down the gouter again.

High winds from Mont Maudit. Descended from summit down an empty Glacier de Bionnassay and an empty Grande Mullets Refuge for a very good cheese omelette! 4hrs45mins to summit. 7-8 hrs summit to chamonix.

Did this route in reverse i.e. up to the Gouter Hut for a cramped night. We were last out of the hut at approx 02:00 but the first on the summit. Then down to the Midi 'phrique via Maudit and Tacul. Long day but we were young and fit then.
