solo first two steps, lead crux pitch. huge ice mushrooms blocking the topout so had to traverse left under capping overhangs, rather tough! ice was thick but softening rapidly! late season fun

Very brittle top pitch with some massive umbrellas. Not as covered when compared to photos from previous years.

Traversed left out of top pitch as although the ice was beautiful, it was not particularly friendly.

Fantastic bit of climbing, I had the easy lower section which meant I then ambled up the gully alone and was first see the final pitch in all it's glory, up close. I few choice words were uttered and I was very glad to be seconding this bit!

Out of condition with weather forecast to break so we didn't think anyone would object to us top roping it and risking smashing it up. Took the hardest line I dared up a thin almost completely formed pencil up the middle. Decided not to pus my luck through a series of cauliflowers so traversed into the left hand corner and exited up the corner Gareth had smashed his way through. Hardest piece of ice climbing I have every done. Would be a great route when fully formed.
