Ascended via the Grey Mare's Tail path, then Lochcraig Head following the fence to the east of Loch Skene. Thereafter, followed the fence/wall to Firthybrig Head, Firthhope Rig then up to White Coomb. Descended via Rough Craigs then crossed the Tail Burn back onto the Grey Mare's Tail path down to the car park. Approximately 12 kms. Accompanied by Bill Harley.

Ascended via the Grey Mare's Tail path, then crossed the Tail Burn at the southerly part of Loch Skene; thereafter followed the faint path up Mid Craig then towards the fence between Donald's Cleuch Head and Firthybrig Head. Then headed in a southerly direction to Firthhope Rig then south easterly up to White Coomb. Descended via Carrifran Gans then Swine Cleuchs onto the A708 to return to the car park at the Grey Mare's Tail. Accompanied by Derryck Duncan.
