Bit of an anti-climax...and got smacked bigtime by flying ice.

Climbing as a three and started at 1 pm after the masses had all but vacated the climb and after we had backed off The Screen due to rotten ice on the main pitch. No 6 was in great condition though a bit too stepped, but still able to to use virgin ice. Graham lead every thing except last pitch which was a joint lead with myself & Paul. Epic day.

With RK. The ice in the lower section of first pitch was dislodged by out passing. Thereafter a smashing ice route. We were unsure the traverse to the right at the top of the difficulties would lead us to a safe descent. So we went up..into sunshine and sandwiches...a smashing picnic

Started at the very bottom, below a short mixed section past some small jammed (?) boulders. The ice crux was on P4, which had a short steep section, whereas the main ice fall on P5 was more like III. On the last pitch opted for an interesting mixed groove with a slightly overhanging exit via an ice column - don't think it was IV! Great route, very atmospheric situation. Six pitches, led P2, P4 and P6. We found two bits of dropped gear, one of which was a glove - email me with details.
