Fair getting on by this time, but we had a bit more gas in the tank and we'd left my long sling, snapgate and maillon at the top, so we elected to give Gaffer's Groove (S) at go. I strategically volunteered to lead pitch 1, with Euan taking the bulgy traverse and then up (pitches 2 and 3). P1 turned out to be more thought-provoking than expected, though I figured it out eventually (lay-back move on some blank-ish/balancy stuff near the bottom). Good lead. Placed 3 TriCams in 25 metres! But then the traverse was horribly mossy, damp and unprotected, so Euan elected to bow out. I set up an abseil off an in situ screwgate-slings-pegs arrangement, with an equalised sling and hex as unloaded back-up, then went down first as the heavier person to test it. Worked a dream. Gorgeous light and sunset later in the day and decent haggis and chips at 9:55, 5 mins before chip shop closing (not Happy Haggis, sadly). Next time Garbh Coire!

Ugh. Mossy, unpleasant. Didn't go past 1st pitch

Very loose in the gully at the top - highly recommend abseiling back down when this large ledge is reached

Best left for winter - like most apparently do.
