The classic corner crack with a truly epic feel to it. Probably the best single pitch VS in the country.

Been meaning to do this for ages. Very good moves in great position. Best VS in the country? No, but possibly the best HS of it's length in the North East... Plenty of gear, but it will take half the rock with it when you fall off.

Best to approach by abseil down the gully down right of the solitary seat where the Cleveland Trail turns from NW to N. There is an abseil stake and a large silver birch at the head of this gully which takes you down between Absinthe and Domino.

I can see the appeal to the adventurous types. But this climb was not my cup of tea. This is not rock climbing - it's sandstone-flakes-held-together-with-dirt... climbing. Not worth a star. Not safe.

Puma 20/Aug/14 Lead

A very nice route, long and some interesting moves through the bulging flux. Made more interesting by having three bulges to move through. Plenty of gear and good holds. Too many to choose from!

with Dave Wiffen - YAC
Will Smith 04/Aug/14 Lead rpt

Finally came back to lead this. What a superb climb. The gear is plentiful but not always obvious because of the weird rock. Made more interesting by the film crew for "Secret Britain" getting set up to film Franco Cookson leading it, seconded by the two presenters!

This is an amazing climb and brilliantly led by Will! We had to work quickly as the BBC were there filming Franco Cookson.

Led this a couple of times before. This time the crag was shrouded in dense mist and, on the upper part of the route, we could have been in the Dolomites - hugely atmospheric. A brilliant route but not for the faint-hearted; certainly not at Hard Severe: definitely feels VS.
