hmm, I thought cloisters felt a bit hard. created a christmas tree of gear below the nut 8 - 12 move. once the holds were wet enough I decided to use the magic sloper on p3, then ben followed on crimps alone. outragous climb on a wowrl class crag. what's macloud ever done on earnshugh?

Best route here surely, superb technical climbing all the way. Done as one brilliant long pitch, rope drag is fine if you extend a few runners (only 30m all up). 5c moves are satisfyingly technical and top pitch is a sensational runout finish up an exposed wall.....***

a true classic. interesting climbing throughout, though very intimidating. henning led pitch 1 and 2 and i got the top (very exposed) pitch, must remember to tuck pants in to socks next time! (i weighed the rope on p1/2 but led pitch 3 clean)

Think this was the route. We did the E5 (well I did the crux on tommy anyway) with the 5c roof crack start this day too. We camped near a Beefeater pub on the Motorway.
