Wasn't as much fun as out could have been due to ape feet.

Excellent route, quite run-out in places but you can see your going for good holds. The top section feels a bit friable so take care.

A good vibe at the crag with lots of friendly people getting on some hard routes and really going for it. Haven't felt this steady on an E3 before. Felt pretty cruisy most of the way. Had a bit of a wobble on the easy bit at the top as I let my guard down and mis-read the sequence, although I sorted it out easily enough. Ignore the negative comments on here: there's plenty of bomber gear and the upper arete isn't that bad (I found one loose hold and the rest wobble slightly but are solid). I didn't feel the need for any runners in left wall as some guides suggest. Enjoyed it as much as Left Wall :)
Dan724 - Lead O/S - 24/Sep/13 with George Sanderson

This felt ok on 2nd. Got a bit pumped on the upper arete, gear was a bit spaced but pretty good.

E5 5c if you kick your runners out... Enjoyed the crux section (big moves between secure crimps) but the arete felt loose. Didn't trust the flakes

As hard if not harder than left wall, i though the line was a superb adventure. I made the top arete more tricky than necessary, got pumped and peeled off good holds. Nice, but no Left Wall.

Nice. Wasn't particularly psyched so got on this and felt pretty steady on it. Was spitting rain as I started which although off-putting it felt good to push on. Big moves in the middle section way above gear. I didn't bother trying to fiddle crappy gear in. Upper arete isn't too bad but again reachy and not much gear on it (I actually forgot to put gear in but it's pretty steady. Good to be able to feel pretty steady on top-end E3 when lacking in motivation.

Spent a while trying to go straight up from the first ledge, once you gain the ledge, traverse immediately right onto the face* Good crux, had to pull on a tiny hold! Top arete was more loose and a bit harder than I expected.

I had done it a couple of years ago on a top rope, but went a completely different way this time and can't remember what I did at all. I thought it was absolutely mint upto the 2nd ledge with just enough gear (none in left wall). After that, the arete was poo

Awesome stuff. I've wanted to lead this since I did Cenotaph Corner in 2004. I remember seeing someone leading it and hearing them shout down to their belayer "That's the scariest thing I've ever done!". It felt pretty steady and the gear felt good enough that I didn't need to resort to side runners in Left Wall as is suggested in some guidebooks.

how good! i thought this was superb: the lower wall is just perfect and the arete is superbly positioned. if youre fit / can recover then its steady too: the climbing is very positive and youre never more than 1 move away from good gear or good holds. the arete feels a bit more serious with thoughts of the ledge but you still have good gear and the climbing remains very positive. totally recommended!

Done at the end of a full day so was slightly pumped tying onto Simon's rope. I messed up the final move on the crux sequence and retreated back to L Wall for a rest, but was totally pumped by the time I eventually topped out!
