Central Gully 200m I***
Central Gully follows the line directly up the centre of the corrie. The start of the gully is enclosed and quite narrow, but higher up it opens into a wide and steep snowfield below the ridge linking both summits. It is quite normal for the gully to be heavily corniced, in which case the best line is to veer left and head for the summit cairn.
The gully takes reasonable snowfall to build up and shoukd be avoided late in spring or mild temperatures when there will be a significant avalanche hazard if there is still a large cornice over the top of the gully.
The direct descent is down either down the East or North-East ridges (the two ridges either side of the corrie).
