A good, long snow route that gives a classic winter-outing
1) 1, 100m. Climb the easy snow-ramp to the snow patch called The Spider
2) 1, 60m. Follow the icy gully leftwards to gain The Fly
3) 2, 50m. Exit The Fly by the gully at its apex
4) 1, 110m. Follow the easy snow slope to finish just left of the summit. © Rockfax

maybe not full left hand option, but some kind of variant. good outing in amazing sunny conditions. snow is defiantly on its way out though.
Very cold but dry day. Snow on first pitch was very sugary. We followed another party into the gully and consequently any snow that had built up at the crux points was trodden into oblivion necessitating some tricky mixed climbing on the walls of the gully. No ice underfoot but a great icicle runner by Stan on the third pitch. Fantastic views and eventual sunset

Very Sugary and soft not in the best condition

Route not fully in condition, lots of snow but only partially consolidated and at high level, a thin icy crust over loose powder.

Pitched an ice smear variation below the fly

Done with Cally as her first 'real' winter climb. Snow a bit soft and crusty but complete.
Pitched straight to the summit. 6 pitches. Lean but nice, and excellent snow.

Bit thin at the start, a few "interesting" mixed moves and then the snow was a bit sugary to the top.
Did iced-up slab as introductory pitch at about III

Superb neve on a superb crispy sunny day that you don't find often in Snowdonia.

Ace, bomber neve all the way. I led pitch 1 and 3, we then moved together above that. In hindsight the whole route was more than soloable but we were expecting it to be a little trickier than usual due to the thaw over the weekend.

Awesome fist winter climb. Solo'd with Pete, Fresher and Stephie

First winter climb, moved together.
Late start so headed for the Trinity Face. Slush turned to surprisingly firm snow on the plod up to the Spider. Paul, Ken and Ben went up Central, which was not too bad. I opted for LH and it proved to be hard work and not much fun as every so often I sunk through to the hips. Still, good to get out in the snow for the first time this season.

Great first winter climb with good guys n excellent finish

was well banked out with snow making it nice and easy.
Second trinity route in the bag. Approached via Crib Goch traverse then down the Snow softening but still good. Topped out right onto the summit but v poor visibilibility. A bit easy for a II. I/II as per guide is fairer.
Climbed in superb alpine-like conditions. The upper snowfield was a little soft and spooky but low down was in great nick. Topped out to a round of applause from walkers :-)

Absolutely amazing day out, crystal clear the whole way and good snow conditions, topped out to a snowdon covered with people in trainers.

Basically swam up it...
Went to do Snake Bite but heavy powder and poor weather meant a change of plan... Tried another variant start before the gully proper, a steep turf/ice gully, 10m; fun.
Climbed in glorious sunshine. Some loose powder over névé made it feel a little insecure as a solo.
Tried to make it as interesting as possible at the top in the rocks/turf..
Nice, straight forward and fun, ran up to great sunshine on the summit
With exception of a few steep turfy bits near the top found slightly easier than central.
great neve. perfect weather

Topped out on a crowded Snowdona summit

Solid Neve. Beautiful day!

Went to do right hand today, wasn't in condition though, very loose and lots of spin drift. Left hand isn't as dependant on the conditions so did that instead.

My first ever winter route merry christmas. Good fun and long day conditions could of been better snow was sugary, but didn't cause me any problems
