Slog up into high corrie below Mullach an Rathain through deep soft snow above about 800m. Gully looked good from below however proved to be loose wet snow over rock/partially frozen turf. No ice anywhere. Belays difficult to find. First pitch (DP) up easier angle snow and steeper rock steps. 2nd pitch (RR) one steeper section to surmount (likely crux) and then easy angled snow to ridge. Finished near summit of Mullach an Rathain and continued on a full traverse of the main ridge.
