soft snow low on the approach, got a lot better in the gully with some fun icy steps

Exposed (poor snow) traverse to start of the defined gully - 1st Belay at hollow scoop, right side of gully. I led 1st pitch (III), probably the most tech on the day. Narrow gully with couple of icy steps. Richard led 2nd pitch (II), snow swim up main wider section of the gully, and 3rd pitch (III) , icy traverse up and left (a bit like SC Gully?). Gaz led grade II exit through undefined ground to top of ridge above no.5. Avoided upper buttress on right and had a tricky little exit at the edge of no.5 in poorly bonded snow. Really good route, would repeat and maybe consider direct finish. Retreat via the tourist path/lochan/CIC cascades - long slog but main gullies had avalanchey feeling.

Day of work. Possibly one of the most under rated routes on the mountain. It's also far longer than described. Climbed the Direct Finish (as per SMC Ben Nevis Guidebook). Well worth doing!

Can't believe this doesn't get any stars in the smc guide, fun climbing with direct finish.

Led pitches 1, 3 & 5. Decent conditions lower down, fat ice on the steeper sections and good neve. Up higher, snow was sugary crap and the ice was starting to thaw out. Felt low in the grade.

Nice climb, with some good wee ice pitches.

Initial pitches were up mixed ledges as no sign of ice. Gully pitches were nice as quite narrow, although snow conditions not great. Took left exit at the top to climb challenging ground past two chockstones. Guide book suggests easy sopes to finish. Not a chance. After 100m of walking the ground steeped, requiring a full 60m pitch to sit astride a dodgy belay, then 30m run out (okay, 2 semi good ice screws) on collapsing snow to try to out flank sagging cornice. Nice way to end the season.
