Hidden gem in the Moffatdale backcountry... At least a week of cold weather to bring into condition, preferably with some snow as well as cold temps.
Limited parking at NT 159 115 (bridge), follow east bank of Carrifran Burn up to east tributary (Firthhope Burn). Through a small gorge section (climb cannot be seen from the glen) and then follow series of 10-15m falls with pools at bases (beware thin ice...) taking RH branch higher up. Great climb in nice situation, though escapable at many points. Descent is best over Carrifran Gans and down South ridge back to starting point.
