Definately worth the solo. As gear would be be a huge frustration. Amazing curved flake with layback-esk moves on lovely smears for feet. This climb flows nicely through the flake section and as with the other routes on the butress loses a star due to the less interesting top outs. Amazing rock though.

2 pitches as 1. Thin on gear, but not too tough. Had trouble finding anything to build a belay off at the top!
jimmysdead - Lead O/S - 17/Jun/12 with Chris Aston

Used as an eliminate start to Slab Climb. No pro until the grassy rake!
wadh1720 - Lead O/S - 04/Jun/12 with John R

Very nice, gear is all there on P2

Pauls first ouitdoor lead on the second pitch

First pitch only, as a start to Slab Route. Scary bold stuff - those cracks just don't want to take gear
sarah hawker - Lead - 18/Mar/12 with Ed (Malta), Neil Morbey

Soloed first pitch (no gear placements), wimped out of soling second pitch (again no gear placements). Horrible crag to reach in summer, very high and dense bracken and no clear paths. 5 minutes from car park according to guide book, but took us over and hour to fight through vegetation.

Linked both pitches. Belay is a bit thin
JackPott - Lead O/S - 18/May/10 with Isi, Thom Evans

Lovely slab route- felt much easier than Fireball X L 5, but wouldn't rush to lead it- seemed to be lacking protection.

I led the first pitch (one piece of gear and a quite nasty move above the poor number 2 rock) and lisa did the second, was very proud when she began to get a hang of running the rope out a little bit! Not too much of a struggle and felt quite out there!

Ran both pitches together. A heavy shower came on just as I started the second pitch, making it considerably harder (but at least there was some gear by this stage).

good fun gear rubbish on the fisrt pitch, linked both pitches together

Ran both pitches together. Even with 60m ropes struggled to get far enough back to get somewhere to belay! 1st pitch has only 1 piece of (comedy) gear.

This was very easy (if slightly precarious on second pitch placing gear) for a MVS (in the book), consindering we tried Fireball XL5 of the same grade and neither of us could get past one spot.
ginger_lord - 2nd O/S - 22/Aug/06 with Vince Vanhinsbergh

Very balancy slab pitch 2, done with not much gear

Run the two guidebook pitches together

Guidebook suggests MVS 4b,4a. Led as single pitch with no gear on first half. Enjoyable slab padding.
