UKC

The West Ridge is the obvious and stunning line up the mountain from the the west. It gains about 900 mtrs of vertical ascent, starting with steep walking, moving into to easy scrambling, then to some easy but loose climbing (UK Diff) over some small towers. More scrambling then brings you to the bottom of the summit tower. This is 60 mtrs of climbing (UK HS, V-) on slightly suspect rock to the summit. A number of insitu abseil points of varying quality exist. With one 50 mtr rope we needed to do two abseils to reach ground where we were happy to solo down (UK Diff) the last 15 meters to where the summit tower begins. Two ropes would enable only one ab from the best anchor to reach easy ground.
