So much fun! Pretty exposed in places, I can see why walkers might struggle, but really nice scrambling on good rock all the way, probably pretty steep from a scrambling point of view.

More like the middle of July than March the rake was its usual easy self offering no real problems,Jeff took the rope on the first real crux for no other reason than I had put it in the kit bag the night before and it seemed a shame not to use it .

Ascended Jack's Rake, great scramble then walked on to high raise, descended to just above easdale gill, then stayed high and walked to summit of Helm crag, dropping down into Grasmere for a brew and barm! Left Grasemere ascending up and over to Elterwater then took the track behind the Quarry and then decended on the track that skirts the left hand side of the Langdale valley (very pleasant) back to the National trust car park next to new Dungeon Gill PH. Out 8 and a half hours all told aprox 11 miles in good sunshine superb day and a great scramble to start the day off.

Climbed with my girlfriend Baba on my 1st time up Jack's Rake and Babas 1st time scrambling. Absolutly gorgous weather! Great climbing all the way with fantastic views along the route!! Definatly worth the 3 stars!! Baba loved it! i will be coming back in the summer to do it again when i am on summer leave

Dad, now 54, has been looking up at this since he was about 10 years old. A hill walker, not a climber, all he needed was a push in the right direction to finally attempt it. Found it tricky and scary but was VERY pleased to reach the top 40 or so years after first deciding to do it.

Good 1st scramble with a bit of boulder hopping up the ghyll leading to Stickle Tarn. Ben was adament he could take a stick all the way to the top but this idea was quickly forgotten once both hands were required to climb! There was also time to visit the top of Harrison Stickle and for two fry ups on Pavey Arc using a Trangia.

Really good fun. Was worried that Katherine wouldnt like it because shes not that experienced at hill walking but she loved it too. Much better than walking all the way round to the back of Pavey Ark.
