5752m. Ascended from the East to a col to the south of the summit. A broad ridge is then followed to the top. Some difficulties may be encountered at the summit snow mushroom. In recent years glacial retreat has pushed the grade up to AD- with up to 60degree ice encountered near the mouth of the glacier.

Second attempt. Set off earlier but this time got horribly lost in the dead glacier in the dark. Somehow got turned round 180 degrees and wasted time trying to climb out different sections of the entry sandy wall of death thinking it was the exit side!

Turned back just before the snow line as Elinor wasn't feeling well due to the altitude and big load carry the day before.

Bringing an old rope to fix on the return up the moraine slope will save you a horribly chossy climb back up!
