15 pitches. Outstanding climb in very isolated surroundings with demanding approach. Rock quality excellent with only a few scrappy pitches. Follows a series of water streaks to impressive summit. 770m VI-. Abseil descent possible but serious. Two walk off options: the first is the gulley leading down R just below summit, steep & can be serious if there's late season snow. The one we did and I'd recommend takes the long clockwise descent down the obvious valley to the north of the summit, across the "Altopiano" of Pale di San Martino, a spectacularly remote, desolate area of the Dolomites. There is water, which comes in handy because chances are you'll be gagging after the ascent. Short re-ascent to Passo Canali and then looong walk down back to the hut and then some to get back to the car.
