Møtteveggen Sotra, NORWAY
Climbs 18 – Rocktype Granite – Altitude ? – Faces ?
A Fine steep crag, with good wall and crack climbing. The crag has a mix of natural securing and bolts. Some routes have been re-equipped. Not difficult, but strenuous with technical moves between horizontal breaks being the key to success. With the wall being slightly overhanging, once you make a move it is often difficult to see you footholds!
Technically in Øygarden, but collectively the area is known as Sotra. Take the 555 from Bergen to Sotra, turn right at the roundabout and drive on the 561, passing the town of Ågotnes. Before a big bridge, there is a BKK electric transform building by the road. It is just after the slight bend in the road, and you will probable miss it and reach the bridge first! Park by the BKK, and follow a track to the crag. About 10mins - unless you have local knowledge you will get lost. Midges can be a problem.
