Beautiful scenery, great climbing at the 'City of Rocks'. © James Rushforth
Città dei Sassi is a huge sprawling boulderfield located directly under Sassolungo on the Sella Pass. From a climber's perspective this 'City of Rocks' has an incredible amount to offer and is undoubtedly one of the best sport and bouldering venues in the Dolomites. The views are stunning and the location idyllic.
Sport sector layout is taken from the Rockfax: The Dolomites - Rock Climbs and Via Ferrata (2014).
I've added the bouldering onto the bottom of the crag page. Older boulder problems are marked with red paint. Newer problems are marked with blue.
Roadside parking is available along the top of the Sella Pass. There are also 2 rifugios nearby with parking available.
Grades somewhat iffy, some are easy or fair, very many are extremely underestimated. joepremier - 21/Jul/17 |

Great place to go if it's raining, just keep walking around and you'll find a crag with a rain free aspect. Sector 2 is especially good for dry climbing in the rain. Steve Perry - 19/Aug/15 |

Takes a bit of work to find your way around the different sectors but patience will be rewarded with some great climbing in the low to medium grade range. JLS - 27/Jul/12 |
