A big serious North Face, home to some of the most important hard climbs in Austria from the post-war years. The routes here are typically 700m or higher on not always solid rock. They are not bolted and do not appear in any 'plaisir'-type guidebooks. Of particular interest are the Nordverschneidung or Rebitsch/Lorenz (VII), the Direct North Face or Rebitsch/Spiegl (VII), and the Herzogkante (V).
Approach from the Falkenhütte. Descent from the summit ridge through the Spindlerschlucht - serious.
