A broken series of buttresses on the south face of Pillar. An excellent scramble gives an interesting route to the summit. Quick drying, south facing and with excellent views over Mosedale to Wasdale Head. Warning - There is some loose rock in places. Take care

Access notes
Park at Wasdale Head. Cross the packhorse bridge and follow the left side of the beck into Mosedale. At the Y boulder head up towards Wind Gap on the path. The best approach involves 'overshooting' the buttress and then taking a rightward diagonal line back soon after crossing the gully that comes down the left side of the crag. Approx 1hr 15 minutes
