Wirksworth Dale

Climbs 10 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 290m a.s.l – Faces S

Crag features
A small crag by the picnic spot and recycling area just outside Brassington. Not a premier venue but has convenience going for it. There are 4 main bays, the woodland bay, the recycling bin bay, the 'no tipping no fires' bay and the grassy bay at the top. The rock varies from very good to terribly loose and topping out would be harrowing in all but the woodland bay. Probably climbed on before and possibly mentioned in the 1950 Brassington rocks guide. Check your landing for dog poo!

Access notes
Easily located just outside Brassington on a small lane called Wirksworth Dale, Just down the road from Manystones Lane (Harborough Rocks) if coming from Longcliffe, if coming from the South it is just after leaving the village on the Rt. Park next to the rock and limber up for an arduous walk in of around 10 paces.
