Altea Calpe, SPAIN
Climbs 37 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 285m a.s.l – Faces E
Two contrasting cliffs, both in superb locations. Altea Col is steep imposing and recently developed, whereas Dalle d'Olla is a bit tired and very much old wave, despite this both cliffs are worth a visit if you climb at the appropriate grade.
Impossible not to attract the attention of the Security guard as he has to raise the electric barrier to allow you into Altea Hills. The area around the Dalle d'olla is being heavily developed, the cliff has disappeared to the left and right, parking is limited to the road outside some pretty posh villas now. For Altea col the parking is very limited as the area above the concrete pumping station is being developed with huge villas, the path to the crag is very vegetated 1/11/09

Security happy to let us pass. Main 'colours' wall recently rebolted. Grades on the stiff side.|

Guard just let us through, no questions but I didn't think much of the routes or the rusted bolts higher up on the cliff. Only did one route then left, won't come back.
I get the feeling climbing isn't allowed as on our way down (walked out but got a lift in) a security guy stopped us to ask if we were climbing, he didn't seem to pleased about it but we for him we were on our way out and was happy enough then.

We asked the security guard if we were ok climb here and he happily raised the barrier and let us through.
Path to the Dalle D'ola area was short and well trodden.
Areas of the Altea col took a little more bashing
