Roc de Piteil Ariege, FRANCE
Climbs 23 – Rocktype Limestone – Altitude 819m a.s.l – Faces NW
A small outcrop overlooking the village of Montferrier - the left end of the crag holds over 10 easy lines, equipped with belays only for top-roping groups (though they can be led on trad gear), to the right are about a dozen fully bolted lines from 5a to 6c. A pleasant place for families to visit with a good-sized flat area below the crag. Very much a summer crag as it is cloaked in trees.
A good track departs between the two houses in the hamlet of Peyrot leading to below the crag, a short steep path leads to the climbing. It is also possible to walk from Montferrier itself in 20 minutes.
