Crag features

Climbing here is the summer can be very hot. Winter is the best time but it can get cold if the clouds come in.

This area contains some of the very best rock on the island in 16 sectors.

The grades vary from 4 to 8b with a number of on-going projects.

Approach notes

Make your way to Artenara first. Then take the GC-210 towards La Aldea. Then take the right turn onto the GC-216. After 7.5kms turn off towards the Tamadaba Park and park in the camping area where all the sectors can be reached from. The routes are mainly in the canyons that descend from here.

The guide book includes the routes from here to all the sectors along with GPS coordinates.

Beware - the Climbo book has the map wrong - they have North pointing South.

Access Advice

Note that these crags are in a national park and which include a number of protected species. Because of this there are number of restrictions on access. Full details can be found in the guide book.

DO NOT CLIMB HERE WITHOUT PERMISSION! - In Feb 2019, neither the tourist info, nor local climbers knew of any need to get permission. The 'ranger' did not question us.
