Eilean a Ghearrain Argyll and Bute, SCOTLAND
Climbs 17 – Rocktype Granite – Altitude ? – Faces all
From Rock and Run Guide: Eilean a Ghearrain is a rocky island 300M west of the shore at Fidden Campsite on The Ross of Mull. The rock is excellent and the setting idilic. The routes on the south face are longer than they look while the shorter routes on the west face provided some technical climbing. Some of the routes have been climbed before but not recorded.
Climbs at this crag
Park near Fidden Farm without causing an obstruction. Walk out across the sands to the second rocky island. The South Face is round to the left and the other routes are
accessed by climbing up and over the right side of the island. The access and the south face routes may be effected by high tides but it is possible to wade the shallow sandy bay much of the time if you get cut off.

This crag is tidal! The Rock and Run Guide says you can always wade. We were there in early march and got cut off for 3 hours at high tide - we could have stripped off and gone for it but its a long way!|
