The Churfirsten are a chain of several tooth-like peaks above the Walensee, of which Hinterugg is the highest at 2306m. Many of the peaks have long alpine rock routes on their south faces or on their flanks, a few of the better protected examples of which are included in "Plaisir Ost". Conversely, the summits can generally be reached from the north by straightforward walks, while crossing points between the peaks are afforded by the exposed south-side scrambles up to Gocht and Palisnideri. The easier crossings at the eastern end at Valsloch and Nideri can be combined as a full day round trip and the traverse (east to west seems most common) appears to be an epic challenge.
Take the cable car from Unterwasser, then a gentle and beautiful 30 minute walk to the crag (Tristencholben)
