Holdless granite slab in the desert near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia © steve taylor
A selection of many, many granite outcrops, mostly slabby in nature. Rock quality OK on the few established climbs. Similar in nature to Joshua Tree, but slightly "scrattly".
Requires some off-road driving, but not to far from civilisation (2-3km to small town of Umm Sarahah/Umm Sarayah.
I guess this what we called hum back jebel, didn't do anything on it as it would need bolting and we don't bolt. We climbed to the top along the east ridge. Behind this to the north is a jebel with a huge fallen block at the north side, we called it fallen block jebel. We did 3 routes on the N side and 3 on the south side. JNH - 27/Jul/17 |
