Shaw Crag North Yorkshire, ENGLAND
Climbs 5 – Rocktype Sandstone (hard) – Altitude 270m a.s.l – Faces W
A small buttress located in the secluded valley of Bransdale. There isn't much to go at but the rock is excellent at around 6 metres high and the climbs go from Severe to E1. Stake in place above.
Take the main road entering Bransdale's east side by driving through the villages of Fadmoor or Gillamoor. After about 6 miles park at a layby entering the valley at grid reference SE 629966 opposite a public bridleway. Follow this up onto the moor then break off along the edge for about 5 minutes where the crag is inconspicuous down on your left in line with a wall coming up between two farms below.
On open access moorland but strictly no dogs at all.
