Excellent, quick drying bouldering quarry.
From Stanhope Dene Upper Lakeside, continue west past the old buildings then immediately turn right and head up the velvet path, through the gate. After 100 yards cut back left up a path to find the quarry at the top of the hill.
Alternatively, head North out of Stanhope on the B6278. Continue through Crawleyside anf over the cattle grid and on for approximately half a mile where there is a walled field on the right of the road. Park just past the field on the left where there is a public footpath sign. From here, the quarry is visible down the path to the West. Follow the path downhill until you meet a wall on the left. After a few yards down the wall there is a path uphill to the right and the quarry.
