Wadi Rum Rum, JORDAN
Climbs 280 – Rocktype Sandstone (hard) – Altitude 1754m a.s.l – Faces all
Crag features
Wadi Rum is in Jordan. Most of the routes are given alpine grades. It is magnificant and adventurous climbing in a spectacular wilderness area. Mainly long and serious routes that often have complex descents. No retro-bolting should be undertaken though some sport routes exist. Some adseil chains are bolted. There is little that can be done in the event of a rescue being needed though the Jordanian Airforce have been used before.

I guess nobody is moderating!! Amazing place, take pitch by pitch French grades with a pinch of salt! It seems they give more of an indication of the hardest move rather than difficulty of over all pitch as French sport grade normally do. Descents are typically epic...take lots and lots of tat and a torch!!
