One pillar (marked PEH/GO) of the railway viaduct in the idyllic Watermeadows Park of Penistone provides two long boulder traverses on very good quality gritstone with largely natural holds ( ie there aren't any useable joints between the blocks anyway!). The north side may drip after rain whereas the south side will stay dry in light rain. Regrettably, the other pillars have a 'step' near the bottom which ruins the prospects for more bouldering.
The easiest boulder traverse (Quiet Flows the Don) is around f6b+.
The low traverse (Parklife) is around f7a+.
Arrive at this beautiful river-side park close to the centre of Penistone to discover the obvious railway viaduct.
