Crag features

Ardentinny (Glenfinart Bay) is one of very few “sandy” beaches on the Cowal peninsula and was always popular with local kids in the summer months. Since the COVID 19 lockdowns this popularity has grown and throughout the summer, the picnic area in the bay is frequented by campers, enjoying the picnic facilities and staying overnight or for a couple of days. The wee bouldering wall in the first bay beyond the picnic area has been climbed on since back in the mid 1980’s so nothing here is new. However, it is useful to document it as the wall is pleasant and varied with a lovely atmosphere and view down loch long if visited on the right day. Many eliminates can be invented so the wall can throw up a good “wee session” for those inclined and who happen to be in the area. It’s sunny and open position means that it dries quickly but it can have water at the base on the highest tides.
