Costa Del Elgol! © The Big Sender

Crag features

Good climbing on quartz sandstone just south of Elgol. The climbing is mostly well protected but can be quite strenuous. The cliffs here can often be dry when the mountains are shrouded in mist and rain and is well worth the long drive round.

Plum lines include Hairy Mary, Jamie Jampot, Mother's Pride and Veritas Splendour

Approach notes

Parking is availible either up at the Post Office or down by the harbour front. Follow a faint path out of the car park behind the Bella Jane cabin around the edge of some raised cliffs before breaking out accross the moor for about 1.5 km (NG 51467 12384). The easiest approach is to set up an abseil down Jamie Jampot and traverse into your chosen route. Much of the traverse approach sits above the high tide line however this may not be the case in heavy seas.

Nah this crag is absolutely class! would totally travel a good distance to climb here again

Climbed Jamie Jampot and Fertility Left in light rain, remains fairly sheltered from weather coming from the North.

C'mon Ollie boy get this crag moderated! I think there are some good clean lines on the crag but a lot of it is a bit hairy. It has its place when the Cuillin is clagged in, south facing and quick drying but a bit over-rated, you wouldn't go out your way for it.
