Lester Mill Quarry Lancashire, ENGLAND
Climbs 75 – Rocktype Grit (quarried) – Altitude 170m a.s.l – Faces W
Crag features
Worth a trip if you live locally, or an hour or two of your time if you're from further afield and visiting Anglezarke Quarry for the day.
The best routes here are found on the Evil Wall (E1-E4), which comes complete with evil top-out. There are many routes graded VS and below on the other buttresses - the most solid/cleanest of these being the Setback and Lester Rib areas.
You may have to bushwack a little to get to the bottom of the routes, and there may be areas of vegetation and loose rock. But if this puts you off leading you could top-rope here without anyone ever finding out!
There are several belay stakes above the Lester Rib/Wirebrush Crack area and also one above the Setback area. There maybe others further down towards the Evil Wall.
