Crag features

Historically the hill was the location of a military outpost and warning beacon during the Qing Dynasty. Present day short and easily accessible sport routes on rough granite provide the Kowloon side with a very popular crag. Here the grade range caters for novice and local F8 grade ‘hard man / woman’ alike.

This is the go-to single pitch sport crag on the Kowloon side so expect it to be very busy on weekends.

Approach notes

Take the MTR to Shep Kip Mei Station.

From Shek Kip Mei MTR Station, hail a taxi and request the driver to go to Lung Yan Road.

The taxi should take you through Tai Wo Ping and onto the major carriageway of Lung Cheung Road, heading east. Shortly after joining the carriage way and just past a lay-by area on the left hand side, the entrance into Lung Yan Road will be seen on your left. Follow this all the way uphill to a water service reservoir and lay-by area where parking for a few cars is possible. Adjacent to the reservoir fence is a small path that leads up hill to the crag. Walking approach approximately 10 minutes.

Restricted Access

All bolts on the lower buttress were chopped during protest banner removal in 2020.

The grades and the number of routes are from the 92/93 guidebook. All of the routes, up to 20 of them, have been bolted since from F5+ to F8a. The granite is very rough but very clean as the crag faces the sun all day, especially winter months! It's only 10 mins from public transport. Worth stopping by to visit when you're in Hong Kong. Excellent views of Hong Kong, too.
