Vadiello Huesca, SPAIN
Climbs 300 – Rocktype Conglomerate – Altitude 798m a.s.l – Faces all
Crag features
Vadiello is located about 10km NE of Huesca. The crags are located around lake Vadiello and the valley leading up to it. The rock is conglomerate spires with occasional limestone pockets on a smaller scale than nearby Riglos. The conglomerate is much finer constituting balancey, fingery climbing. Natural protection is nearly nonexistent so the vast majority of routes are bolted.
The area has recently become a popular alternative to the crowded Rodellar and there are now almost 300 climbing routes at Vadiello reflecting the interest that climbers have shown in opening new routes in this area.
At present about 75% of the routes are well equipped and offer a wide range of levels starting at F4 and going up to F8b+. Generally speaking there are more easy lines for those finding Rodellar that bit too steep.
